What is Out of Gauge Shipments?

Over-dimensional and over-weight cargo refers to goods that cannot be disassembled and exceed the size or weight limits established by the Ministry of Transport. Specifically, there are specific regulations for over-dimensional cargo and heavy cargo, including weight and size restrictions for transportation and logistics.

What is Oversized Shipments?

Out of Gauge shipments has the following characteristics:

For road transportation: The cargo is non-detachable, with a length of 12 meters or more, a width of 2.5 meters or more, or a height of 2.7 meters or more.
For waterborne transportation: The cargo is non-detachable, with a length of 12 meters or more, a width of over 4 meters, or a height of 3.5 meters or more, and is also classified as Out of Gauge cargo.

What is Overweight Shipments?

According to Article 12 of Circular 46/2015/TT-BGTVT, overweight goods are goods that cannot be disassembled and weigh more than 32 tons. However, when loaded onto road or waterway vehicles, the actual weight of a package that cannot be disassembled is over 20 tons and is also classified as overweight goods.
